Sunday Post : Making the most of the sunshine

This has been one of the first sundays in a long time that I have had off from work and made the most of the day. There was a farm festival on near where a live, so the boyfriends and I decided to join my mum and my sister and nephews along to it. Honestly I have never had such a good day.

I loved spending time with the family, and my nephews and had some lovely family bonding as well as them getting to know my boyfriend a bit more. Sharing laughs and enjoying the events on throughout the day. Today has been quite a special one and to be honest its been a while since I have ever had a day were I could be able to say that I had an amazing day.
Something I want to have a lot more of. Watching my nephews grow up and being a beautiful family.

This week coming up, the boyfriend and I are off away for the week to North west Wales, even though we live kind of close, its still a getaway for a week to relax with no connection but a pay phone. I cant wait.
So for now, 'Over and Out'.

Think Pink | FOTD.

Ive never been a huge pink fan, when I was younger I always wanted to be different from all the other girls and I decided to dislike pink and have every other colour but that, which my mother found disheartening when all she wanted to dress me in girly pink dresses and I wasnt having any of it.

However of course from then on I have grown to love the colour I once despised, honestly I have been loving a bit of a change from a red lip. Brightens the face and actually brightens my hair.
The colour I  am wearing here is Rimmels Kate 107 which in the bullet is a dark red, but once blotted once or twice on me looks pinkish red, which I have been loving wearing recently.
This lipstick is one that looks differently one almost everyone, the paler the skin tone the richer the colour, but me I just dont get the deep red, rather a deep pink, Which I am quite liking recently!

Keeping out of trouble

I stress, you stress, we all most likely stress about something now and then, and with my stressing I break out more often than not. Recently it has been more often than usual, which really isn't agreeing with my skin at all, and to be honest its me barmy. With stressing I get spots and they are just your average hello look at me ones they are there standing out and protesting on my face, which sadly has been a lot recently. It happens to us all, but my gosh when it does, they hurt.
So with this I have been on the hunt for a skin care remedy that would work for them, whilst they were hibernating one my face (Doesnt it make them sound horrible) and the after math, clearing up scarring.

I have found a few things that work for my skin. Firstly Neutrogena Visibly Clear oil free moisturiser, this is something that is meant to clear skin and prevent spots, I has worked for me in the past fantastically, recently it has been putting up a good fight against my angry skin, I cant say it does do a world of good. This is something I put on first thing in the morning and never am I without.
Re-Gen is one of my best friends, I have had this in my skin care routine since god knows, and is such a cheap good buy, It helps to clear the scars that spots leave behind the nasty purpley red ones, So far it has clear up quite a few, and continues to do so. Not the most luxury of products but it does it job well.

The Boots Botanics Mattifying Cream, I use this for my t-zone and sometimes mix it with my foundation, I find it works a treat, counteracting shine and oil, Something that I have been loving using recently.
The last thing that I have to help me out with spots, is the origins drinkup intensive mask, (10% off at john lewis at the moment too on origin products) the over night mask. This is something that replenishes my skin with moisture after I have used all my lotions and potions, that might dry out my skin, Something that has been working so well recently.

They are just a few things that have been working really well with my skin and keeping out of trouble.

Pastel dream

Shirt - Newlook (similar)
Skirt - Topshop
Jacket - H&M
Tights - Primark
Lipstick -  Rimmels Kate 107

This is something I recently wore out to a meal with friends, paired with my favourite pair of heels and a different necklace, (Which sadly I cant find! please don't say I lost it) Which tied in the black with the pastels, either way I still love the outfit. To me this really shows that we have been getting some sun because the denier of my tights has gone from 80 to I think 15. Silly I know but it matters. I got complement so much on the combination of the shirt and the skirt it was lovely to know I looked lovely.
The skirt was sort of a naughty purchase, because of course end of the month I didn't have much money left to buy things, however my brother said what the hay why worry over something so little as money when getting the skirt will make you happy! Which at the time made sense. So I dashed off and bought it before my common sense kicked in. Its something I cant stop chopping and changing between summery tops. Definitely be a staple in my summer wardrobe.

My Saviours!

Where do I start with my hair, it can be ridculous at times, when all I can do is tame it back into a bun and have done with it. Its thick, frizzy and most of the time has a mind of its own, and with out my GHD's combined with lotions and potions help to sort it out, and tame the wild bugger, I be lost and have something looking like a birds nest on my head.

Other than that sometimes it can be alright and look lovely. Some of the products that help me out with this business are basically My Saviours.
It starts of with the wash and the bits I use to fight the frizz, I always use a scalp treatment shampoo on my head which is Elvive Anti Dandruff Intesive Shampoo, I always find that t helps maintain the healthy condition of my head. Plus I find it gives my hair a proper cleanse from products I have been lashing out in the few days between washes. I always get a conditioning treatment in with my wash because my hair is coarse and can be dry, so injecting as much moister as I can into my hair where ever I can is always a necessity. I have been using the John Frieda Frizz Ease Intensive Masque , this is like nothing I have tried before, thick consistency and smells pretty amazing. I squeeze as much water as I can out my hair and apply to the ends and clip up for about 10 minutes. It has making some what of a difference recently to the frizziness to my hair combined with the serum hand in hand they work well.

Once all the bathroom business is over and done with I towel dry and spritz my hair with the Tresemme Heat Protectant, this has been some what of a staple over the years there has been nothing has smelt as good or does what this bad boy does. Something I repurchase time and time again. Then I run a blob and a half of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum through my hair. This gives such a lovely scent to my hair and has made something of a difference to my hair, calming and controlling the frizz. Lastly I use one spray of the Garnier Ulitmate Beauty Oil through my hair, evenly spreading. This adds moister and shine to my hair, I only run it through the ends, any where near the top of my head and it will be grease heaven.
With some blow drying and a lot of straightening, this combination works a treat, on the odd occasion it can be rather unruly, but I am running from the hair cut that should happened a while back. It can wait, Hair dressers scare me.

Pin-striping.

Shirt - Newlook.(similar)
Jeans - RiverIsland. (similar)
Necklace - Newlook.
Bracelet - Links of London.

I was actually meant to take this shirt back in february, I just wasn't feeling it, I am actually so glad I didn't, it is a such a lovely muted colour for spring, other than the typical pastel colours that I have been wearing. Almost in the military phase of fashion, but with twist, I went with my pinstriped jeans from last summer, these are something I didn't get enough of last year and I definitely making up for it now.

Recently Newlook had a BOGOF on jewellery so of course I took full advantage of it and bought my self a few necklaces, this one being one of them. I cant get enough of it, its something so simple and easily enough to go with almost any of my outfits recently.

17 Doll'd Up

17 Doll'd Up £6.29

It was the shape of the brush that caught my attention with this mascara, and lead me to buy it. The curve of the brush drawn me in. I am not quite sure, Whether it was the line that came with it, the 'up to 24 hour curl' which to be honest I am not knocking because the quality of the mascara is good, Its staying power is pretty amazing.

Brown Black has never really been a choice for me I have always gone for black but to be honest it works well with my eyes give a more subtle look and compliments the colour of my eyes.
The over effect of this mascara I can say is pretty much a dupe for the Lorèal Telescopic on my eyes, Creating length and curve at a much cheaper price. I am not saying in anyway that this is better, however in its own sense its okay. For me it is not enough on it own and I feel the need to add a mascara that adds volume as well. Its just my personal preference. Either way on its own it is a pretty good mascara that lengthens, divides and curls my lashes.

Its not something I would love to try again, just because it doesn't float my voluminous lashes boat, but i cant knock its lengthening capabilities.
